Animal Health

At KCI Animal Health, our mission is to bring leading edge technology to help veterinarians provide the best wound care treatment possible to their patients.

Three Critical Components, One Unique System
The V.A.C.® Therapy System is comprised of three essential components that actively work together to help promote wound healing through granulation tissue formation. KCI Animal Health offers two therapy units and a range of dressings. Our technology is offered for rental or purchase, with trial evaluation programs when select conditions are met. KCI Animal Health also has a Charitable Animal Care program for veterinarians treating abused, neglected, or stray animals.

V.A.C.® Therapy Unit
Provides intermittent and continuous therapy with integrated patient safety features.

SENSATRAC™ Technology
Regulates pressure at the wound site to provide accurate delivery of selected therapy settings.

V.A.C.® GRANUFOAM™ Dressings
Help provide the necessary mechanisms to promote granulation tissue formation.

What type of wounds can be treated with V.A.C.® Therapy?

Since its introduction, V.A.C.® Negative Pressure Wound Therapy has changed the way wounds are healed. V.A.C.® Therapy promotes wound healing by delivering negative pressure at the wound site through a proprietary foam dressing, drawning the wound edges together, removing infectious materials, reducing edema, and promoting granulation tissue. The Vacuum Assisted Closure® (V.A.C.®) Therapy System can help heal most wound types including:

  • Degloving
  • Chronic wounds
  • Severe abscess
  • Incisions with risk of dehiscence or infection
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Ulcers
  • Infected lacerations
  • Flaps and grafts
