For the third consecutive year, KCI employees participated in the 2019 San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup, an annual competition which gives local businesses the opportunity to reward employees for making healthy choices, celebrate their company's culture of wellness and ultimately help support charitable organizations in the San Antonio area.
In early April, Ronald Silverman, M.D., F.A.C.S., Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, KCI, kicked-off the Company’s Corporate Cup donation challenge with his second annual Silverman Invitational at KCI. This event had multiple teams compete in games like giant Jenga and ping pong, among others, and ultimately raised nearly $1,500 in donations for the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio.
Following the Silverman Invitational, KCI continued its support of the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio with a week-long school supply drive. From pencils and markers to construction paper and Clorox wipes, KCI employees filled a 55-gallon barrel with an array of school supplies in support of the San Antonio-area Corporate Cup charity challenge, benefiting underserved children across the city.
In addition, KCI hosted three separate blood drives benefiting both the University Health System Blood Donor Services and the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, providing much-needed donations for people in South Texas.
In late May, 75 KCI team members participated in 10 athletic events for the 2019 San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup. From basketball and dodgeball to tug of war and the KCI-sponsored 5k, KCI participants showed up with a will to win and support San Antonio charities, placing 13th in the Company’s division with 714 points.
Dedicated to supporting local nonprofits in our communities, our participation in the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup stands as a sign of KCI’s commitment to supporting charities, championing health and wellness, and helping underserved populations.
